The Retail Fuel Station Project Makhado involved the establishment of a fully functional Engen fuel station and convenience retail shop. Theta Projects played a key role in the development by managing the installation of fuel pumps and underground fuel tanks, creating an efficient and customer-friendly retail shop layout, and designing and installing signage that reflects Engen’s brand identity. While other contractors were responsible for specific components of the development, Theta Projects ensured seamless coordination across its scope of work, delivering high-quality engineering and construction solutions that met the client’s expectations and contributed to the successful completion of this Retail Fuel Station Project in Makhado.

This Retail Fuel Station Project Makhado required Theta Projects to focus on the precise execution of key components, ensuring a fully operational and visually cohesive service station. From the installation of essential fuel systems to designing an efficient retail layout and signage, each aspect was managed with a focus on compliance, safety, and brand alignment. By collaborating seamlessly with other contractors, Theta Projects ensured that the Engen Makhado project’s individual parts came together successfully to meet Engen’s standards.
Theta Projects was responsible for the fuel pumps and tanks installation, the retail shop layout, and the signage package for the Engen Makhado development, delivering a functional, compliant, and brand-aligned retail fuel station solution.
Other contractors handled specific components of the works, and Theta Projects coordinated closely with them to keep the site aligned, compliant and moving toward operational readiness.
Theta Projects was appointed:

Installed high-performance fuel pumps and secure tanks, with the underground infrastructure, delivery lines and dispenser positions set out and tested before the forecourt was closed up.

Designed a functional, customer-focused shop layout that balanced circulation, counter positions, displays and back-of-house requirements for day-to-day trading.

Created and installed visually striking branded signage, aligning canopy fascia, prime signage and forecourt brand elements with Engen’s brand identity.
Coordinated tasks with other contractors for smooth execution, keeping the individual work packages aligned so each component came together on programme.

Ensured compliance with industry safety regulations across the fuel installation, canopy works and retail areas throughout the construction period.

Conducted thorough system checks before operational launch, confirming that pumps, tanks and retail systems were ready for trade.
The Retail Fuel Station Project Makhado development ran over 8 months and was completed on 9 May 2024, with the programme managed around the fuel installation, retail shop and signage packages.
Each workstream had to be sequenced against the work of other contractors on site so that pumps, tanks, shop fit-out and signage could be completed without holding up the opening.
Thorough system checks were carried out before the station was handed over for operational launch.
